Deb Gelet

Each length of cloth is hand-dyed using a variation on shibori methods and fiber-reactive or bio-regional dyes.  Imagery is then layered onto the piece by hand painting, transfer work, hand-carved stamps, silkscreening, dry brushing, foiling or stitching.  This is a very subtle layering process which may bring the same length of cloth over my work table nearly 20 times before a piece is completed.  Finishing with flame and breath symbolizes the alchemy.

Directions: From Main Street in Hailey, turn west on Maple Street (across from The Dollhouse Consignment Boutique) and go one block to River Street. My studio will be directly in front of you in the orange and yellow duplex.  I am in the back unit of the duplex.  Please park along the empty lots at River and Maple.  Come through the iron gate at the courtyard entrance and join us upstairs.
