My eyes soak up cracks in dried mud and venation of leaves; my brain reimagines nature’s patterns and my hands transform them into human adornment using many techniques. I sculpt powdered metals into one of a kind, mixed metal pieces of silver, bronzes, and copper. I add complexity to these pieces through the more traditional metalsmithing techniques of sheet metal work, soldering and forging. I add accents of gemstones, wire, leather and pearls to create a comprehensive collection of brooches, bolo ties, necklaces, bracelets and earrings.
My attraction to shiny objects, my focus on the visual and tactile senses and my itch that is only scratched by creating, are best satisfied by making jewelry.
My artist self is the summation of my life journey; aspects of my past botanical researcher, pastry chef, traveler and nature lover selves enrich the jewelry I create today.
