For this series, I use photography and imagination to create rural and sometimes unexpected panoramas in honor of a time when natural observation was inescapable. What is our relationship with the natural world in an age when the digital one is available to us anytime, anywhere? I like the simplicity, stillness and silence of a wide-open space and no distraction.
Working only with panoramas and blending together landscape and abstract photography techniques, I shift between a pure representation and something fictional. I’ll start by finding the abstract in a scene and use software to stitch, edit and otherwise alter the final image.
