Artist Statement

Art is my passion, whether it be creating, restoring or preserving. I have studied and worked in many mediums, which has helped my work as a conservator. When creating, I enjoy working with watercolor, pastels, pencil, and printmaking. My art is not profound or philosophical. It is a simple representation of my love of nature and the human form with great attention paid to detail.
As a conservator, I restore oil paintings, sculpture, objects and frames. My studio also doubles as a frame shop where I specialize in preservation framing.
My mother, an accomplished artist, was my first teacher and is still a major influence and mentor. I was educated in the San Francisco Bay area. I attended Ohlone College, San Jose State University and The Academy of Art in San Francisco. My studies included Art, Art History and Restoration. I developed curatorial skills while working for the California Museum of Art and a few galleries in Sonoma County. I moved to Idaho in 1979. I taught several art classes and eventually went to work in Ketchum, Idaho, for a prominent gallery. I worked there for 14 years as a frame shop manager and master framer. During this time, I dreamed of owning my own business and in 2004 I realized that dream. It is a wonderful feeling to wake up each morning and look forward to the day’s work.

I can’t imagine life without art.
