Gay Bawa Odmark
Layering, adding familiar symbols from past memories whilst creating my most recent pieces- monotypes. As my pieces are only done in a series of one work at a time, I enjoy the process and desire the unexpected.
I am influenced by my Indian culture in the process of layering. Textiles, walls, spicy food and religious symbols, flora and fauna. Everything is used as it appears and there are no limits to the process.
I am not interested in the technical aspect of printmaking, I entrust it to Jen Galpin, my printmaker and owner of Vita Brevis.
