This past year I have been exploring black and white and how the apparent absence of color allows a painting to resonate more on an emotional level. Black or white paintings are not really black or white; the paintings are filled with light and shadow, density and transparency, clarity and obscurity, and reflect or deflect many ambient colors. One sees color in a black painting and one sees color in a white painting.
Along with the black and white paintings, I will, of course, be showing some lushly colored other abstract work.
