Tom Prater is an impassioned artist who paints in water-soluable oils. His inspiration lies within the trees, the shadows of the mountains and valleys that occupy his daily existence. Tom was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho in 1968. His love of painting began at the University of Idaho where he studied fine arts and followed him to Taos, New Mexico. The desert horizons and beguiling sunsets became a daily muse for over 18 years. Tom returned to Idaho in 2010. The humble farmlands and familiar aspens, along with the abundance of beauty that represents Idaho, continually inspires his boundless desire to paint.
