As a plein air painter I find my compositions in nature. Wind, cloud, sun, land, water, light, shadow are all elements of design and coalesce, the masses become shapes, the ephemeral becomes substance. This is the lens I observe through. There is delicacy and drama, and these flashes of composition catch my imagination. These exchanges are moments of discovery for me, and create sparks of inspiration and energy. Painting presents the challenge to distill this energy into my art.
