The majority of my work consists of landscape paintings with a particular focus on the sky. I paint with oil to develop a meticulous surface with attention to luminosity, color and atmosphere. I look for a balance between photorealism and surrealism with an interest in abstract qualities. I look for the atemporal and infinite and sometimes find it in patterns of light and leaves, clouds and sky or branches and twigs.
Landscape is tied to our subconscious, our dreams and fantasies. It forms our identities and ties us to our homes whether in reality or in our minds. My paintings are about the beauty of landscapes that are real and landscapes that are imagined and the boundless possibilities of them both.
